Washburn do a nice little travel guitar, I think it's called the Rover. You can get it for under £100 in the UK. If you look it up on youtube you can probably get a decent idea of its size.

I dunno about albums, but google the "Troggs Tapes". It's an 11 minute argument they had whilst in the studio that's pretty entertaining. They were unaware they were being recorded.
