Default Psychedelia Album Club

We've enough fans on MB to warrant psychedelia having an album club of its own. I've asked a couple of you about this already, but I'm throwing it out there in public for all to see. Anyone is welcome. If there's enough interest, discussions will begin in November, once the shockwaves from Metal Month II have subsided. (Speaking of which, our North Californian members might really be getting hit by an earthquake soon! Off topic…)

If you would like to be a member or have any questions, comments, or concerns, post here. But do ask yourself whether this is something you are able to commit to - you will be required to listen to, suggest, and post comments on a wide variety of psychedelic albums. (Torture, I know…)

Our RYM page: https://rateyourmusic.com/~MBPsychlub

And our rotation is…
  1. Pet_Sounds
  2. InsightfulOutsider
  3. DeadChannel
  4. Josef K
  5. Frownland
  6. Psy-Fi
  7. Briks
  8. Sidewinder
  9. Moss

I'll join, but I'm pretty good at flaking so don't hold it against me.

I'll give it a go. I must be due back in hospital after having another nervous breakdown by now... they do nice food at Christmas!

So what's the format of the club going to be like? How do we choose albums etc.

I'm open to suggestions on that front, especially from album club veterans like Briks and Trollheart, but I thought it would go something like this:

Week 1: Each member has a few days to nominate an album, after which I set up a poll, and we vote. At the end of the week, the votes are tallied and the winner announced.

Week 2: Each member listens to the album and posts their comments.

I'm still fine-tuning this, and suggestions are appreciated.

Membership-wise, we have:

Me
Surell
Frownland
Mondo Bungle
Trollheart
Briks

And if we all chip in, we can surely raise a fund to pay Drive's salary.

Count me out, I've got my psych journal (see link in sig) that I'm really dragging my feet on. More than a month ago I bought Hobo Rocket and have listened to it a few times now, but even though it's on my to-do I still haven't gotten around to writing the review. If it's taking me forever to write stuff in my own journal, it's unlikely I'd have the ambition to listen to, and review stuff, in here as well.

But I might check in on it now and then anyway.
