Thank you Pet Sounds. Here is the Wiki write up on Groep 1850 (Group 1850). A dutch Psych band who put out this album in 1968. A very spacey record called Agemo's Trip to Mother Earth. A 7 track album but if you can listen to the entire album plus bonus tracks (you tube has them); the bonus tracks are great as well. This album can also be streamed on Spotify.
Wiki: Groep 1850 was a Dutch psychedelic rock band that was founded in 1964 in The Hague. They first used the name Klits, but were renamed Groep 1850 in 1966 when their debut single, "Misty Night" / "Look Around", appeared on the tiny Yep label. Though few copies were pressed, it established them as one of The Netherlands most original bands (alongside the Outsiders and Q65) and they soon signed to Philips. More singles ensued, in a highly psychedelic vein, including the "Mother No Head". Their debut album, Agemo's Trip To Mother Earth, appeared in late 1968. In The Netherlands its sleeve had a 3-D image on the cover, and came with a pair of 3-D glasses. A UK release (also on Philips) did not help the band gain a footing outside The Netherlands, and Philips dropped them soon afterwards. Their next album, Paradise Now, appeared on the Dutch Discofoon label in 1969 and was only marginally less acid-influenced than its predecessor.

What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
This is a spacey acid induced record with sound effects and interesting song structures. Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album? No, i love the variety of the songs. Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger? I like the opening 2 tracks better but the final two tracks are nice as well just a little more mellow. Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens? I find it more enjoyable. What was your favourite track? Of the 7 that made the actual record I like Little Fly but I Put My Hands On Your Shoulder is the overall epic track on the album. What was your least favourite track? Either reborn or refound. What did you think of the variety of tracks presented? This is a European band with their own influences. The tracks do not sound the same which is nice and are varied in time signatures, tones, etc. How would you describe the overall mood? The overall mood is like a drug induced journey from outer space to Earth with interesting guitar doodles and sound effects. Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club? I have listened to this album probably 10 times. How well do you know this band/artist? I have known of them for about 10 years now and I suggested this album to introduce to others. If you're familiar with this band/artist, how does this album compare to their other work? I beleive this is their first studio album. They had one more then broke up. How would you improve this album? I would not. The sound effects, time signatures, vocals are unique and their own. Would you recommend this album to a friend? I have, to my music banter psych brethren! Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material? Yes What did you think of the vocals? Lets just say vocals are not the standout on this record. What did you think of the instrumentation? Technically I have no idea but I enjoy the drum solo in 'Shoulder' and the guitar doodles throughout. What did you think of the production? Not an expert but this sounds like it was made on a limited budget. Any other thoughts to share? Have an open mind, it really is a great record. The bonus tracks (which i posted a few) are awesome as well. Their most wel known song Mother No Head did not make the album but was a bonus track on the CD i bought and is a cool song. Rate the album out of ten. No decimals! 8

What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
Good quality late 60's psych/rock with some early Pink Floyd and Mothers of Invention influences. Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album? A bit, but I thought those influences carried through most of the album. Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger? The last two tracks were my favorites, so I'll go with those two. Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens? It seemed to grow on me a bit with repeated listens. What was your favourite track? It was a tie between the last two tracks 'Refound' and 'Reborn' What was your least favourite track? 'I Put My Hands on Your Shoulder' I thought it started out sounding interesting but became too self-indulgent after about five minutes. What did you think of the variety of tracks presented? Good variety of styles and moods throughout without sounding unfocused overall. How would you describe the overall mood? I thought the album alternated between slow & mellow to fast-paced & frantic. Calm to turbulent. Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club? Yes. How well do you know this band/artist? Never heard them before this. If you're familiar with this band/artist, how does this album compare to their other work? N/A How would you improve this album? Get rid of the spoken word passages in the album and the overall 'Mothers of Invention' type silliness on 'You Did It Too Hard/A Point in This Life' Would you recommend this album to a friend? Yes. Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material? I plan to listen to their second album 'Paradise Now' shortly. What did you think of the vocals? Definitely the weakest point in the album. Not bad in spots but rather mediocre at best on most songs. What did you think of the instrumentation? Interesting and well played. What did you think of the production? Seemed a bit varied as far as the quality on the individual tracks but didn't seem to detract from the overall sound of the album. Any other thoughts to share? Not at the moment. Rate the album out of ten. No decimals! 7/10 |

What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
Interesting 60’s era psychedelic with some unique instrumentation and sounds. Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album? It got a little more out there and experimental as it went along which I did not foresee. Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger? Originally I had the opening tracks but after repeated listening I’m going with the closing tracks. They really grew on me. It was tough because I think the 2 opening and 2 closing songs were the best on the album overall. Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens? Much more - I started to kind of understand the vibe with repeated listens and my initial rating went up. What was your favourite track? Between “Refound” and “little fly” but I guess I will go with Refound. What was your least favourite track? “I put my hand on your shoulder”. If you just went from the 1:00 mark to about the 2:40 mark it might have been my favorite but then it goes off the rails a bit. What did you think of the variety of tracks presented? Good variety for sure. How would you describe the overall mood? Very creative and experimental overall. Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club? Probably not, but I tend to not re-listen to much music these days. So busy trying to keep up with new stuff. Although if I ran across it in the future I think it would be a pleasant surprise. How well do you know this band/artist? Never heard of them before this. How would you improve this album? Not sure, seem like they probably accomplished what they were going for with it. I would have liked it more with more concise melodic songs but that is my own bias. Would you recommend this album to a friend? Maybe a friend that was really into this type of experimental music but not to most people. Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material? Probably not although I would actually like to hear more. What did you think of the vocals? As others have stated, kind of a weak point. What did you think of the instrumentation? I liked it for the most part. Quite a variety of guitar, flute, keyboards, different percussion. Had that classic psych guitar sound throughout much of it. What did you think of the production? Hard to tell since I listened on Youtube but didn’t sound too bad. Any other thoughts to share? Is this some kind of concept album? Seemed implied by the title but I was not sure I caught a story going through it. Rate the album out of ten. No decimals! 7/10 |

What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
The intro was weird in a good way. Sounds a bit more experimental than I had expected. Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album? Not really. Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger? The closers were the two best tracks on the album, IMO. Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens? More. The effects grew on me. What was your favourite track? Probably "Reborn". What was your least favourite track? I quite liked them all, but "Little Fly was the one that stood out the least to me. What did you think of the variety of tracks presented? Normal for a record of its genre. How would you describe the overall mood? Undulating and slightly unsettling (in a good way) at times. Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club? Yes. How well do you know this band/artist? Never heard of them until now. If you're familiar with this band/artist, how does this album compare to their other work? N/A How would you improve this album? Hire a couple new vocalists. Would you recommend this album to a friend? None of my RL friends would appreciate it. Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material? If I can find the time, certainly. What did you think of the vocals? Scroll up. What did you think of the instrumentation? Anything with flute makes me swoon, and the variety of percussion was cool. Reminded me a bit of the Velvet Underground. What did you think of the production? A bit sketchy at times, but acceptable overall. Any other thoughts to share? I haven't really explored much "experimental" music from this era, so this is a nice introduction to that. Rate the album out of ten. No decimals! 8/10
