Nickelback - Savin' Me - Lyrics Meaning
Savin' Me is the third single off of Nickelback's fifth studio album All the Right Reasons, which was released in 2005. The song peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number 2 on the Canadian charts. The track is about finding redemption and calling out for help in the midst of trouble. There has been a lot of debate on exactly who the protagonist of the song is crying out to. Many people think it is to a lover and others think it has religious meaning and the person is crying out to God. The lyrics do have a religious undertone to them as themes of redemption and heaven are scattered throughout the lyrics. The band purposefully did not want to reveal the true meaning because they felt if they did some people would be alienated. By leaving it more ambiguous the listener could filter the meaning however they want.
The music video does give a clue that it may be talking about human relationships and man's ability to help his fellow man. The video shows people helping other people just as they are about to be killed. Savin' Me was released on April 25, 2005.
