I have to say though that allmost all my friends do listen to 70's prog (not just prog), it's also about being interested in music I think

Probably the biggest distributor of prog cds (his own label) in the US maintains the youth of today are not interested in 70s prog (especially the more obscure bands). He says they are only after "crazy rock".
He should know since he releases both obscure 70s AND metalprog.
