(Im waiting.)

Janszoon 04-21-2011 06:56 AM

Nope.

Baggs 04-21-2011 07:05 AM

Let Baggs postulate this then.

Did The Monkees invent Psych?

Two words: "Daily,Nightly".

Predates Silver Apples? 50 Ft Hose? White Noise? United States of America?

Caw-ching!

Baggs 04-21-2011 07:09 AM

YouTube - monkees/micky dolenz - daily nightly

"Startled eyes that sometimes see phantasmagoric splendour."

Need Baggs say more?

"Second hands that minds have slowed are moving even faster "

There you go.
Disorientating perspective/time-shift which plays at tripps und traums.

Ferk that "Tomorrow Never Knows" Jimmy.

The rarest Monkees lp is the MONO "Birds ,Bees & The Monkees".

Followed by the compilation, "Nutsack Full O' Monkees"

Followed by "Changes" lp (which has only two of the Monkees - but there is a rare cover version showing Mike!)

I guess "Present" is sorta rare also.

Baggs gots the Davey Jones solo lp!!!

Baggs also gots Telly Savales solo vinyl AND Bobby Sherman "same".

That makes Baggs better than you all.

If you dont believe Baggs has possession of Savales and Shermanm vinyl then Baggs can post picture-proof RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. (For those who dont believe...well, you know what? Next to the pics of said lps Baggs will place a DATED newspaper so's you cant chortle that Baggs merely pulled those lp pics off the web.)

starrynight 04-21-2011 07:52 AM

Have you got any Michael Nesmith?

Baggs 04-21-2011 07:55 AM

What manner of question is that?

remember , I AM afterall a prog Masterman.

Mod. Dankster:
Regarding "prog Dolly" thread which you just extirpated:

This is a relevant prog discussion thread.
You (martinetishly, I must say) nipped it in the bud before it could even develope.
The thread is about SEX IN PROG.
Most people think prog is devoid of sex.
Not so!

It (was) a pertenant thread!
Your too quick on the draw, pardner.

Howard the Duck 04-21-2011 08:01 AM

The Monkees Uber Alles.

Baggs 04-21-2011 08:10 AM

"Daily Nightly" is the first pop song to make use of the Moog.
Dolenz was the 3rd owner of Moog.
He got it from Beaver, of the group Beaver & Krause who had a Moog demo stall up at Woodstock.

Baggs isnt 100% sure but seem to recall the George Harrison "Electronic Sound" lp is basically down to Krause.

Really? I thought it was another coverart thread.
Why didn't you explain in the original post what the thread is about and what do you want to discuss, instead of treating every thread like a quiz question?
If I was acting martinetishly, as you said, you would have been already given a warning for spamming the prog forum. I'm actually pretty tolerant with you, giving you a chance to learn how to use the boards properly. So, start learning!

I like that he posed a question because it opens up the topic for discussion but you are right that maybe he should also post in the OP why he feels that way and let others comment/join in on the discussion later on.

It's about another thread I closed "Prog dolly", not this one.

oh okay. My bad then.

On Topic: I'm willing to disagree with you, Mr. Baggs but i will do my research then come back to give you a better answer than just disagreeing.

Howard the Duck 04-21-2011 09:20 AM

it's not only prog and psych

the monkees invented dubstep, ambient, folk blues, acid jazz, post-rock, math-rock

and also calculus, trigonometry, volume, the Pyramids, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and pizza

Baggs 04-21-2011 09:29 AM

Cummon, Dankrsta.
Re-open the "Prog Dolly" thread and I will post a sexy Bijelo Dugme coverart (seeing as you are apparently Serbian).

But my thread is not mere coverart - its about sex in prog lyric.

Give Baggs a chance..."All we are saying is..."

Howard the Duck 04-21-2011 09:47 AM

Well, I hate Bijelo Dugme, what an awful band. I like a great psych band Igra Staklenih Perli. Do you know them, oh Prog Masterman?

I will reopen the thread, but you have to edit your op and explain what the thread is about. Okay?

Do not speak down to the all mighty Prog Masterman!

Baggs 04-21-2011 10:47 AM

Igra is great.

Masterman material.

You wans the lps in your collectro.

Back to the origional question:

Did The Monkees invent prog?

Of course not.
What a ludicrous thing to say.

Should be ashamed of yourself.

(bhutt'ole)

djchameleon 04-21-2011 01:30 PM

After hours of research I can now conclude that The Monkees DID in fact invent Prog.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 04-21-2011 06:26 PM

One is running for the GOP presidential nominee...

Dotoar 04-22-2011 08:27 AM

They used a Moog on "Star collector" as early as 1967 so yes, The Monkees invented prog.

Baggs 04-22-2011 10:33 AM

Your joking, right?

Tell Baggs your joking.

Dotoar 04-22-2011 10:42 AM

I never joke when it comes to prog! Did you know that Yes considered Davy Jones as the singer before they found Jon Anderson?
