I mean, he's doing what makes him happy, good for him. screw all the media bull crap making fun of him. i'm sure it's tough for all hollywood actors to really have a normal life. i made a facebook for him titled "I Support Joaquin Phoenix". join it.

Well, in his defense, Signs would have been a hell of a lot more interesting if Phoenix had broke out rapping with the aliens instead of swingin' the bat.

I'm not sure if anything could have saved Signs, but adding nonsensical comedy couldn't possibly have hurt I guess.

Phoenix being weird is of course just an act. He's in character and there must be some reason for it. A mockumentary made by Casey Affleck is the most popular hypothesis. He might do it just for fun for all I know.
