Most overrated bands ever?

The Chili Ppers are still a great band. But they're slowly becoming a tad overrated. First with By the Way and now with Stadium Arcadium.

They've been overrated, they've put out a few good albums but all they're basically beating a dead horse now and get way more hype then they deserve.

They have about 12 albums. Every last one of them was a freat album. Record sales don't lie about these things.

The Foo Fighters arne't generic. they've been around for years. If anything it's bands of today and yesteryear that are copying them and being generic.

I'm a big fan of the foo Fighters. I've seen them live maybe 8 times or some where around that number.
I can honestly say that I love them but I can also admit that there are maybe three songs by them that I wouldn't listen to given the choice.
And some of their songs do make you wanna go a little crazy and love something.

Record sales don't mean shit. Avril has sold tons of records, more then the sounds of animals fighting, so I suppose shes a great artist and better then them too? Okay, once again you've managed to make a slightly relevant post that didn't really answer his question at all. I mean, if he/she really looked into it, I suppose they could drag out the answer being his post was so evil because you're a fan of them, but thats pretty weak reasoning.

Avril lavigne and the foo fighters are two different genres and appeal to different audiences.

Yeah, and Delonge and Hendrix are two different genres not difficult to pick the better musician though is it?

No matter who I pick it's a matter of opinion. If you found someone else to choose the same answer I choose it just means that the person agrees with me or vice verse. Doesn't prove anything. nor is it relevant to the arguement about the Foo Fighters since Naes nor I compared them to anyone.

No, its not. Hendrix is obviously the better guitarist, talent isn't something thats subjective.

And that was more in refence to your logic on the chili peppers being a great band because they've sold lots of records. If you followed the arguement more closely you'd realize that wasn't about the foo fighters at all.

Compared to any 70s punk band, they're really not.

And anyone who thinks Good Charlotte and Simple Plan are overrated is very slow, get with the times, no one likes GC and SP anymore, thus they cannot be overrated.
