I qoute the above because they are the 2 best Metallica songs written, poosibly "Fight fire with Fire" in there too. But onto the topic at hand, over-rated bands. Let me see . . . . . Green Day for one, sold out basically after "Dookie", which really sucks because it was a great album. Good Charlotte. {No Further commenbt required} Simple Plan. Ugh. Sad, sad, sad. With the relative success of their debut album,. they proceeded to bring out what everyone seems to think is a great album, but sucks. Alot. Franz Ferdinand - Good, but not as good as everyone makes them out to be. And I could go on for a long long time, but I wont. Hope I didn't anger anybody P.S: Linkin Park. . . . Ewww. |

But. Over here in New Zealand, they're getting alot of underserved, continual praise. And I really don't see why. They haven't toured here, they brought their album out here after everywhere else (as is with most bands) and really, all we have to go by, is there singles. I mean, if they came and did one show, I would respect them a whole lot more. And one day, they will and I will respect them. But until then, or another album, I think they're just "heh" |

I see your point. And I didn't see them live yet. But I will, hopefully, in November. Perhaps I'll hate them after their concert, but at the moment... Anyway, I'm really curious bout a new album.
It's f***ing shit that you have to wait longer than everyone else to get new albums. That sucks. It isolates you from the rest of the world. Damn.

It sure does, but that's when having friends sending you random CD's in the post comes in handy. It might take 2 weeks for it to get here, but it still gets here before it's released, so it's okay sometimes.
But what angers me the most, is that fantastic bands like Death Cab For Cutie, Revis, Smile Empty soul etc etc etc, aren't even heard of over here. That makes everything so much harder. For instance, I was in a record shop the other day and this is the conversation I had with the guy behind the counter. {As well as I can remember it} ~Me: Hey, do you guys have any Death Cab For Cutie or Something Corporate? ~Idiot: Who? ~Me: Death Cab For Cutie? ~Idiot: Who the **** are they? ~Me: A Great American Emo band. ~Idiot: Oh, right. ~Me: So, do you? ~Idiot: No. Try the internet. If I wanted to get it over the internet, do you think I would've wasted my time going to a record shop? I think not. Anyway, back to my point. There are so many bands you guys take for granted. In no way is this meant as a personal attack, but before I started checking out some of the bands my friend in Texas was babbling about, I'd never ever heard of them. It's a sad sad world. I'll shut up and die now, but thanks for reading :-) |

But you live in New Zealand. I love New Zealand. It's such a beautiful country. I wished I could travel there one day...

It's kind of gone a little off topic, if ya know what I mean. |
