The extent is subjective , it didn't sound like he was from outer space early dylan, guthrie rip-off later dylan, rocker |

Calling him a Guthrie rip off is a bit of stretch unless you're talking about just his first album in which case I agree with you though Woody was much more versatile than Dylan. Freewheelin/Times They Are A-Changin only sound like Woody in the sense that all folk sounded like Woody. |

People say they listened to Dylan or liked Dylan, but no one tried to emulate him. And he was a pretentious nuts from the get go. Just because you like to jump on his nuts doesn't mean that he was good. Lot's of women like Oprah. That doesn't mean she is anything but a fat dumb wench. You aren't even refuting anything. |
Drop the insults or I'm banning you. Oh and by the way emulation isn't the same thing as influence smarts.

hmm I don't know if you can put out as many songs as Bob Dylan has and truly be overrated. He has maintained a relevance that almost discredits any critic. Most of us here have not even existed for as long as he has been known as a musician. Claiming something is overrated is purely opinion and should not be judged otherwise. shout anger shout. Thanks for not calling me crazy WaspStar.
