I like Cursive but I can see why someone might not. I haven't heard And You Will Know Us By the Trail Of Dead - it's sitting in my post rock folder, waiting to be listened to.

Ok. And to me Radiohead sound like they could have passed off as a Krautrock band, and sometimes they remind me of KC even though they probably aren't influened by them in any way, they sound like prog, regardless of them not being influenced by more than just one prog band, their music meets the requirement for such categorization. So by that very definition they are prog to some degree, I don't care if they don't think they're prog, Gilmour dosen't think PF were prog either. Thing is, I can produce a Grindcore album and say it's Smooth Jazz, it makes no differene in the long run. If it looks like a duck.........

Thats pretty bad you didn't even realize you misspelled both names after having it right in your face like that. Obviously you listen to them, and for the record its Belle & Sebastian. I'm going to assume pornagraphers was just a spelling error.

I have Either/Or and I Can Hear Your Heart Beating As One, both are really good IMO. Also, I criticize Indie because I think it's a stupid label and most Indie fans are obnoxious, I don't think all Indie bands are bad... Afterall there are more Indie bands than major label ones, theres a lot of good stuff out there, but Pitchfork and people in "the scene" just suck ass at finding it IMO. 'indie' is not a genre, it's short for 'independent', and is used in reference in bands who are signed to minor labels, rather than mainstream--although occasionally a band with the 'indie sound' will get signed to a major label.

The sound is just made up though... The modern idea of the Indie "sound" is some Fugazi or Pixies ripoff with a vocalist doing an annoying David Byrne or Robert Smith impersonation.
