That hand looks like it's about the size of a football field, it almost covers her whole ass

Push Th' Little Daisies is an absolutely wonderful song... even if they are using helium. :P

My favourite Ween album is probably The Pod. It's wonderful. I do like all their albums quite a lot though.

So what do those that have heard La Cucaracha think? It reminds me of White Pepper a little bit. I've only given it a couple of listens but all in all it's pretty good, yeah?

^ Can't say I'm too pleased with it so far, but I wasn't too fond of Quebec (though it had some moments) either. Sorry to say, I'm still stuck in early Ween era (first 3 albums) & though still a fan - I've seen them 3 or 4 times including last year at Red Rocks, I'm not crazy about most of their material since Mollusk (White Pepper isn't too bad).

coupla weirdos dean and gene, does it bother anyone else that Ocean Man appeared as a themesong in the Spongebob Squarepants movie?

teshadoh 11-19-2007 01:28 PM

^ Ocean Man was on a tv commercial for a car a few years before. Also, Ween has contributed songs to movies before, such as the X Files film.

But, at the least, the Sponge Bob soundtrack is eclectic enough to not deserve a 'sell out' label. C'mon, Motorhead is on the soundtrack.

Ween

i think Ween are an amazingly talented couple of songwriters, they always seem to have remained on the fringes though. i get the impression they could be a hit factory if they wanted to, and can seemingly pull off any style.
rather than do that though, they just seem to grind out albums full of short joke songs and experimental tidbits dotted with some of the best songs of the 90's.
there's a sharp wit there which they occasionally ruin with scatological humour... i do like the voice manipulation that features heavily in their earlier stuff though, it's just abrasive.
i always saw Ween as a bit like Matt Stone and Trey Parker if they had gone into music...?

edit: plus the psychedelic element is always appreciated :D

agreed, ween can either be amazing or embarassingly bad. they try too many different styles and should stick to their strengths, especially that stuff like on Quebec
