What model is it? My DX7s stopped making noise when the internal battery died. Now when I switch it on I have to initialise everything from the ROM cartridge before it works again. The funniest part was when the battery was on it's way out everything was getting glitchy and I got some really crazy random sound patches. Wish I could reproduce some of them.
