Analog or digital?

Hello guys, iam new to this forum so i would like to start by this subject, Analog or digital? Why? I much preffer Analog stuff (let's say effects, amps and audio devices) but for now i posses more digital stuff because they are cheaper and in some way more versatile. Does anyone think i should just sell all my digital stuff and start getting more Analog? Tell me your thoughts

You should use whatever works for you.

For sure, but what do you think of them? what do you like the most? Janszoon?

Bro, how you gonna bust out headbangin' riffs with an acoustic guitar?

Nickfar 09-04-2016 06:59 PM

What if you are playing A tout le monde outside a hotel in Buenos Aires?

Then you should probably retire already and quit with the Jesus.

It's easy to get caught up in the romantic notion of analog being more "real" and "true", somehow. Ultimately, you should simply go for what feels right and what sounds best to you. Some artists still worship the 8-track recorder and I understand it. I'd never record on analog myself as it just seems like more trouble and less flexibility (and is harder to back up too). When it comes to how you make your sounds... go with your ear and your heart!
