To solve the latency problem get an audio interface. They sell these on Amazon. It is an external sound card that hooks to your computer by usb. That way you have like a mini studio for microphone or guitar. Also the latency problem will get solved. You can also control your latency with your music software program such as Cakewalk, Reason, Ableton Live, etc.
