Need Help Identifying Instrument
Hello, everyone. My name is Anthony Suarez. I'm a freshman in college who's striving to one day work in the television industry as a writer and executive producer. I'm currently working on a short cartoon to submit to an animation festival in order to kickstart my personal portfolio. I believe that sound plays a vital role in encapsulating an audience, which is why I've been purchasing high-quality sound effects from various creative resource websites to use in my cartoon.
Though my search has been successful for the most part, I've come to a bit of roadblock trying to find one specific sound effect -- or rather, an instrument sample. The sample itself is a long dramatic horn of some sort that I, despite strenuous efforts, cannot identify for the life of me. I've heard it numerous times in television shows, movies, and video games, and have always loved its cartoonish yet dramatic tone. It was used heavily by James Dooley for the soundtrack of the video game Epic Mickey. It can be clearly heard in the background in his piece "Dark Beauty Castle Battle 3" from 0:07 to 0:10. I've become a tad desperate trying to find samples of the instrument online to purchase, but I can't figure out exactly what to search. Perhaps someone with better knowledge of instruments can help me out? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Not sure what the actual name of that horn is, but you could probably find it somewhere in this package:
Symphonic Orchestra

I haven't studied your clip, but since you mention horn, I thought I'd mention horns like trumpets and trombones can often produce various tones through the use of different mutes.
