Overdrive sucking tone from Big muff?
 

Ok, I figured it out. Completely newbie mistake that I overlooked. The treble on the amp was waaaaaay too high and causing it to sound awful. If a mod could lock/delete/whatever this thread, that'd be great. Otherwise disregard it.
