Hi,

it really depends on your budget. If resell value is important to you and you want something flexible, I would suggest getting one of the cheaper fender HSS strats. Standard or Mexico.

Default My Favorite Guitar

I have had many acoustic guitars. For my playing style my all time favorite is my Martin 000-16RGT. Solid Spruce Top, Rosewood back and sides.

My Electric is a made in Japan Strat.

Dumbest guitar I ever sold (it still hurts to type it 40 plus years later)
My 70's ish tele that looks like the one on the Springsteen Album, ouch for $100

Are you looking for a specific style or genre to play, like rock, blues, or metal? The brand choice often depends on that. Also, do you have a budget in mind?

There's an interview with Johnny Dowd (I'll post it if I can find it) where he says you don't to spend more than $200.00 for a good guitar. It's true, you don't have to spend thousands on a guitar to sound professional when you're playing live.
