I haven't listened to too much though, only two or three albums and a collab I think. Does he have any stuff that you think might be more up my alley?

Not sure if you know the story of Shawn's debut album which the track I posted is from.

Shawn was given a $25K advance from Warner's to record the album just based on some demos. He went out and bought a ton of gear, dropped it off in his bedroom (he was living with his grandmother at the time) and then went out for the evening with his best friend, who later dropped him off at home really late (Shawn never learned how to drive a car).

The next morning the friend drops by and Shawn had been up all night setting up and learning how to use the gear and had written 2 complete songs - he played everything on the album including the drums via sampling.

He went on to win Guitar Player's best new artist award, and placed second for the same title in Keyboard magazine based on the album.

(The cheesy synths were kind of the sign of those times - 1992)
