I bought my MiniBrute, the MicroBrute's big brother, for $350. It's a beast. However, you gotta know what you're getting into: both the Mini and the Micro are analog mono synths. They have MIDI functionality, but they're really meant to be played on the actual hardware. It's nice if you don't like surfing through menus, as you can see/hear what every little adjustment you make does. You can't "save" any "presets," though. In the internet age, the design is a bit of a rarity. (And the sub oscillator is wonderful!) You might want to look at a digital poly synth. Me, I chose the Mini because I hate EDM and would rather use a synthesizer for something like 5:07 in this song:
Yes - The Revealing Science of God (That's a Minimoog, but a mono synth nonetheless.) I recommend listening to your options. Arturia MicroBrute Arturia MiniBrute Novation Mininova Korg Microkorg Korg Microkorg XL |
