Tell me why you love your gear?
I'm a photographer/musician working on a book focused on a musician's love for their instruments. I'm getting started by sourcing as much possible content that I can.
I am gearhead/collector and have packed my apartment to the brim (I'm lucky to have a wonderfully understanding girlfriend :) ) with guitars, amps, drums, synths, recording gear, cymbals, effects pedals, you name it. The love of my life (besides my previously mentioned girlfriend) is my 76 MIA Fender strat with a Tom Anderson guard. My dad gave me this guitar when I was 15 and I've been in obsessed with music/gear ever since. In the write up for each instrument, I'm including artist websites/facebook/twitter info. I think this is a cool project to promote your music and help me satisfy my itch to learn about all the great gear out there. PM me if you're interested in participating! Thanks |
You should pitch this idea to the folks at guitarforums dot com. There's some true gearheads over there, and I'm sure you'll get more than you can handle from them.

Thanks for this! I really appreciate the help!

sorry if i was vague in the title. i've gotten some PM's that they need more info...i didn't want to self promote, but i have a website you can check out if you're interested in being featured. PM me for it (i don't want to self promote on the forum, not sure if that type of stuff is frowned upon here)
long story short, the idea is that I'm profiling the relationship between musicians and their instruments. Why we choose our gear, how it makes us feel, how our development as artists is shaped by the gear we choose to create with etc. My growth as a musician is paralleled with my discovery of new gear and i'm interested in learning about and telling the stories of other people's musical journeys. |
It's one of a kind vintage kit that'll be damn near impossible to find (70's Blackjack drum kit) and it's quite possibly the best kit I've ever heard

I loved playing music from an iPod Touch and that's how I used my Rhythm Core Alpha 2 on my 3DS. :) It's because I have a passion for looping music for obscure yet unique compositions, and it's extremely simple yet effective at the very same time. :) That's exactly why I like my gear so much for live performance and production purposes. ^_~
