Default Fave Guitar Brand?

What are your favourite guitar brands and why?

I think I'd have to say Gibson simply 'cos I love the classic Les Paul tone.

les pauls sound good, but ugh, i hate the balance/weight. Ibanez has such a good feel to them and are one of my favorites to play though im a sucker for my PRS and wouldnt give it up for any other guitar ive seen or played. Im looking for an old flying V to restore though, hopefully will find one soon.

I love Fender Telecasters. They're such hearty guitars and have that icey bite to em' that they're famous for. I also like Carvin a lot. You don't hear about em' a lot because you can only get them direct from the company, but the quality and craftsmanship are superb. Their California carved top model puts a PRS to shame (sorry guys).

i havent seen a carvin in years, highly doubt they are better quality as some of the PRS's. The Carvin CT models are nice to look at, but they almost look as if someone came up with the clever idea of combining the style of a Jackson with the look of a PRS.

PRS are just a more expensive slightly more consistent version of gibson.

Carvin on the other hand are a fully handmade custom shop who have a legendary reputation as being some of the finest instruments available to mankind and were also the axes of choice for one Jason Becker and Marty Friedman.

Now please, go and play a Carvin before you start saying your favourite overpriced guitar brand are so much better than them. And when I say that I don't mean 'Go and play a 15K PRS set up by jesus, then compare it to a 1500 basic carvin from 1984 with a rusted bridge'

I mean 'Go and actually compare things before you claim the superiority of either'

Most Carvin's seem as though they're based on other guitar models, but the Carvin models tend to surpass them in quality. I have a friend who bought a CT to replace his Jackson and says he's never been happier with an instrument. I should take bank the PRS statement though, cuz its really not based on my own personal experience.

i think its pretty safe to say that the carvins are better quality than a jackson. Jacksons just dont have no style. they got lots of balls though, especially if your playing heavy, but rather bland on the design side. but ill have to pick up a carvin and play around with it next time im at the good ol guitar shop.

mine would either be ESP, because the ones that i have played are amazing. very sleek necks and great sustain. OR schecter, because of the versatility in the sound they produce

Problem is that unless its a used Carvin you won't find one in a guitar shop. Check out www.carvin.com . While you're there check out the red eye R 1010 bass combo. I don't even play bass and I want this amp!
