High stringing a guitar

Does anyone know if it's possible to string only the octave up strings from a 12 string set on a normal, 6-string guitar? Would I need to get special tuners or something like that?

I got the idea from "Nashville" tuning... I'm anything but a professional I just like ****ing around and hearing what happens. But with Nashville tuning it's only the top 4 strings, not the bottom E and B strings.s

Oh yeah and I'm trying to do this on a Mustang... will I need to block my whammy bar or will it still work?

With the title of this thread, and the guy who made it, I thought this would be an entirely different discussion.

that's....
somewhat fair

but honestly what the hell else could this be about??

u crazy.

I wouldn't recommend it, the lack of tension that you have with the deeper strings would be really bad for your neck and truss rod.

Also my mind went to the same place that Batlord's did on the title.

Have you ever gone back and read your posts when you were sober? Cause you totally are.

You know that thing that other people are when they're shielding their children from you? That.

I just thought they were overwhelmed by my shear level of awesome that they feared for their lives. So I guess that's synonymous with this "sober" of which you speak?

If by "sheer level of awesomeness", you mean "rank smell of vodka and urine", then yes, they were overwhelmed.

I take offense to that.

I have never pissed myself from drinking too much.

I thought I did once but it was just my flask spilling all over the place because the cap fell off. I still need a new flask :(

So you've pissed yourself for other reasons?

Only for money.

Bills to pay bro. They're the one's buyin' and sniffin' um afterwards anyways. What's a simple shower for 300$?

On the real though is there no way to do what I was talking about without damaging the guitar?

Frownland 09-25-2014 07:32 PM

No.

Did some research, turns out you need a couple of the following:
The gauges you'll need are one of each as follows:
.010 plain
.014 plain
.009 plain
.012 plain
.018 plain
.027 wound
