im assuming those were plastic picks? Try nylon, they range from super thin .38 to super thick 1.0 and ive never had one break on me, ive used the same pic one time for almost a year before i lost it, and it was still perfectly usable, just alittle worn around the edges....
.73 are as thick as i like to go, i prefer the .60s. my other guitarist prefers the .46mm but those are too thin for my likings. |

those strings are huge, i think it was 52s that ended up breaking my nut, and those are 56s!! Id be carefull jamming on those if you still have the stock nut. I had to have mine replaced with a bone nut hand carved to fit the 48s i use.
