Please explain this...
I love music but have never picked up an instrument and know nothing about the technical side of things. I want to incorporate this line in a music tattoo I am in the process of putting together but I need to understand it to see if it will make sense.
In the song Hallelujah the first verse has the lines: Quote:
Thank you! |
The full C major scale is [C D E F G A B]. As the lyrics are said here are the chords played:
C "Well it goes like this" F "The fourth" G 'The fifth, the" Am "minor fall and the" F "major lift" So the tonic (I) is played first, then the F, which is the fourth (notice it's the fourth letter in the scale, and same with G). Then they go to an A minor chord: the B falls back to an A and a G falls back to an E on open chords on the guitar, then they go up to an F chord (a major chords as well as the fourth) in which E->F, A->C. |
I think what he wants is a sheet music image, they can be pretty aesthetically pleasing.
Here's a diagram, put them in the right order per Xurtio's instructions and you got your tattoo. Someone else could probably come up with something cooler and more accurate. http://0.tqn.com/d/np/guitar/p50-001.jpg |
O great. Thanks guys!

But note that they're chords, so you'd need three notes per stem:
C : C-E-G F : F-A-C G : G-B-D Am : A-C-E |
