Default What do you know about the oud ?

Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum. I had a general question for you. Yesterday I went to see an incredible gig with two very impressive oud players. I have immediately wanted to know more about this instrument, so here I am.
What do you know about the oud ? Can you advise me some artists I should not miss or that you particularly like ? I really want to discover more about this music and these musicians. What is the best way to get me an oud ? What do I have to pay attention for if I want to buy one ?

Thanks and have a nice day

One of my favorite albums from oud player and double bassist Ahmed Abdul-Malik...
