No one has given any respect to the Banjo nor the mandolin, they're harder to play well than any of those main stream instruments.... Comments?

I play mandolin, although I have an bit of an advantage as I play violin and guitar - mix em together and there you have it. To be honest, I don't play very often but when I do I really enjoy it.

I love banjo. My only problem is that I'm a lefty and I can usually hold my own playing right-handed instruments upside-down, but with a banjo i have to jump over the 5th string peg. Iv'e yet to play a lefty banjo.

Lou Barlow said he learned how to songwrite by playing banjo, said it's much easier to play than guitar at first. Is this not true? I was gonna check it out, to help my guitar playing.
