Violin Woes

I've had a violin sitting around the house for the past few months and recently decided to take it up. However, these intentions were stifled because the tuning peg won't hold so I can't that string in tune with the others.

Some tips on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

You need to buy some peg dope. Its available from anywhere that sells your normal violin accessories. You remove the tuning peg from the headstock and add a little around the peg hole. It provides extra friction and that will let you tune it again.

Common problem. If peg dope doesn't work you'll need a new peg, but thats not likely on a violin that hasn't been used much.

Thanks, at first I thought you were calling me dope. I'll give it a try then.
