Banjo players!
Howdy from Nashville, TN.
Who picks the banjo round here? I've been playin' for about a year or two. Play a little of every style.. clawhammer, brush n pluck, thumb lead blues, bluegrass pickin. Find it sad most people think the banjo was damn near invented with earl scruggs in the 70s. Some of my big influences are dock boggs, virgil anderson, clyde troxell. Hell, everyone that plays is my influence, even ol bela fleck. cheers! |

Custom banjo shops are pretty profitable business.. I have a Gold Tone, my 2nd one. Sounds amazing, but i'm excited to buy a custom one when I eventually get a little more experience.
Far as snapping strings; in the spring-summer-fall seasons I play on the street for tips every weekend, and will usually go through a whole set by the end of the weekend. If i'm playing on broadway here in Nashville, anyway. It's so loud on the street ya see, that I gotta project my playin, and we tend to get rowdy after awhile. So.. i've snapped hundreds of strings unfortunately! |
