The strange thing about bagpipes is that they aren't typically in equal-temperament tuning (the tuning system that almost everything you'll ever listen to in Western music is in). So when you hear them in popular music, they're at least partially out of tune.

Does anyone want to comment on this often-maligned instrument? Any favourite tracks, unexpected appearances or really bad examples of bagpipes? Many of us can name a favourite guitar solo, who can name a similar bagpipe solo?
