Anyone know any good, cheap acoustic bass or 12 string guitars?
Hey guys!
I got a little bit of monays these days and I thought I might bring another guitar into the house. I've already got 4 guitars, but no acoustic bass which I've been wanting to get for a while and no 12 stringer which I've also thought of. I see there are many cheap 12 string guitars around these days, but while the prices are often nice, I don't want to end up buying a **** guitar! So, I thought I'd check if any of you guys could recommend an acoustic bass guitar or a 12 string. Any suggestions?

Ibanez AEB10 is about $350 US, it`s nice for the money...they need new strings right out of the box and the action will probably need to adjusted....I also replaced the bridge pins and nut with bone....it plays pretty sweet and stays in tune....only regret is that I should have went a natural finish.

Thanks for the tip, Garrett!
The cheapest one I've found here (Norway) is a bit over 621 dollars which is a little more than I would like to spend, but perhaps I can find something used. I am a bit sceptical to getting used 12 strings as I've heard the pull of the 12 strings tend to warp the neck more than on regular guitars and so they may need more maintenance. Any experiences/comments on that?

So I had to pass for the time being. Ibanez is well worth its value in quality. You can always get a nice guitar for around $400/$450 on average. Got my eyes on a 5-string Schector bass for around $800 or $900. |

Thanks for the link, Garrett
They didn't seem to have the guitar you mentioned, but I did order a 12 string (Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar) from there which seemed very cheap despite some good reviews!

Breedlove guitars have been really, REALLY good to me in the past. Check them out for a 12 string. I have a passport 6 string and its hands down the best acoustic guitar I've ever played, and for half the cost of some I've played.

Thanks for the tip, GB, although a 12 stringer is already on it's way! I forgot to mention that I need concert guitars, something I can jack up. That really cut down the available options on guitarcenter.com, reducing the number of guitars to 3. Considering the prices, only one of them was really viable, but that one was also price reduced by 50% so it looks like it's gonna be good value for the money.
