I really doubt that steel frets absorb a lot of vibration from the strings and there's probably stuff you could do with your technique that would increase gain a lot more than this stuff so I agree it's probably snake oil. I would like to try a guitar with quartz frets though

I'd only get them if they could also make your guitar tell the time. I doubt I'd be willing ti splurge out more money considering I'm still using a guitar that cost £4.
