Personally, I've never had a will to be a multi-instrumentalist. There are so many ways you can play a singular instrument, it's difficult for me to imagine wanting to pick different things up.
Albeit, a large portion of the musicians I adore are multi-instrumentalists, and I respect it deeply. I don't know, as a player, I guess I just like the blatant power in keyed instruments. Out of an 88 keyed instrument you get an amazing range of tones that very few instruments can top. Plus, I like the simple no friction approach of "press the key, get the note". |
