But drummers are musicians, even if their music is somewhat easier than other instruments, although this isn't always the case.

well it would also be nice if guitarists, bassists and any other instrumentalist would explore different styles too, in that case. still, not everyone has those outlets to learn jazz or world music and use what they know. some of the greatest musicians were strictly in their style and weren't that explorative, but they still made great with what they had.
