I have an acoustic at the moment, it's my only instrument. But it's hard to conjure up awesome riffs with an nylon stringed acoustic

I disagree. Folk punk.

Conjuring up riffs for punk music in general is easy if your just using power chords.

But that isn't very folk is it? Or maybe the nylon strings make it that way. I don't know, I'm not very keen on punk.

I'm not an expert on folk music. Or folk punk for that matter, but from the folk punk i've heard, it's essentially just playing punk rock on an acoustic guitar. *shrugs*

That does not sound like something I would like to play.

My friend has an Harley Benton Les Paul copy that sucks but he doesn't need it so maybe I'll by it from him with a whiskey bottle or something. I used to have an Ibanez Prestige and a Tokai Les Paul, so owning a Harley Benton would practically mean rock bottom.

Last summer there was a guy with a rastafari hat outside a major supermarket in my city. He was strumming aggressively on an acoustic while growling like Karl Sanders from Nile or something. People kind of bent their walking path to keep their distance from him and at least one old lady looked scared ****less. I kid you not. Wish I'd filmed him on my phone.

Why not get a cheap beginner guitar? You can modify it with time and make it way better. Going back to Shazam, it's better to have cheap crap then nothing.
