Kinda like the opening/first post, I play guitar, but not well, haha. I literally started playing like this past week, hahahaha. I've jammed on the drums since I was little, but again, not well.

I finally bought a cajon box yesterday, so working on learning that. I've been wanting one awhile now and was just gonna build it but GC had a Pearl one for like 80 bucks.

There's a tinge of the hippie in me haha.

I'm a cellist, but I really wanna learn piano. It helps a lot in the understanding of harmony.

Does anybody else use what I call compound instruments? Where you take your existing instruments and mesh them together to make a different sounding instrument. I take parts from my clarinet and attach it to my sax to give it a deeper tone, I take my sax neck and attach it to my flute, and I take my clarinet mouthpiece and put it on my trumpet (VERY deep sounds here).

i had to google what a cajon box is and it turns out i recognised the instrument but i didn't know the name but i remember the violent femmes drummer using it in a performance.

it seems like a very minimalistic instrument, it seems hard to master

Been playing bass for just over 5 years now. Mine's a Peavey Milestone BXP. I play a lot of rock and funk: Primus, Level 42, shoddy attempts at Marcus Miller, obligatory Red Hot Chili Peppers, Etc.

So... I played a dulcimer guitar for the first time yesterday at GC and I definitely, assuredly ****ing want one. I took to it like a fish to a pond. Never could get the handle of many stringed instruments, just too weird to me, but the fact it's played on your lap made these piano fingers ecstatic.

$200 for the one I played, used. Next paycheck... I will be back.

I'm teaching myself how to play keyboard. A friend is helping me with it but most of the time I play alone.

I love dulcimers, I plan to get one for myself one day. By dulcimer guitar do you mean one like this?:

Or a more traditional one like this?:

I think Neapolitan has one of the latter.
