I play drums. I took lessons for 3 or 4 years when I was younger, and then kind of lost interest for a couple years, not really practicing seriously and only playing in very informal jam sessions with friends. I started practicing seriously again just earlier this month, and it does feel good!

At some point I would like to learn to play flute, or maybe saxophone. I also think it would be fun to mess around with a contrabass sarrusophone, but I doubt I'll ever have the opportunity.

if you haven't heard Toad by Cream, that song has some drums that will keep you inspired.

Ginger Baker is the man.

Played guitar for about 9 and a half years now, and I've been playing keyboard on and off for about three and a half. Never really bothered trying very hard with the latter so I still suck. Self-taught on both accounts.

In addition to drums, I also play synthesizer, although not with the intention of actually practicing or playing in a band or anything. I just sit down, mess around with the thing, and create new sounds - sometimes for hours. Check out this baby:

My dad bought it off a guy for 50 bucks ages ago. These synthesizers sell for thousands now.

I would do just about anything to get one of these:

It's a hang. It has to be one of the coolest instruments I've ever seen in my life, but they're apparently super difficult to get.

I know a guy that made one out of a propane tank. If you search "home made hang drum" on YouTube you can find a video of a guy who made his own, as well. That's probably my next project.

And I play drums, and various odds and ends that you can beat, smack, or bash with sticks.

This is really cool, I have seen these before. I used to play steel drum for a couple years, and it seems as if they made the drums convex. That or they flipped them upside down and banged divots the other way.

Simple enough to make a new instrument, but brilliant enough to kick yourself for not thinking of it hahaha.

Anyways they make beautiful music!!
