No one's surprised.
It just happens to be that none of us take the elitist BS that some people want to play here.

If he misjudged your post, so did the five people who replied to your post in the last two pages.
Have a look.

Who cares about should learn? I got a flute, does that mean I aspire to be the next Ian Anderson? Or gain proficiency with every other woodwind out there? No, I would love to be able to play it with confidence and that's what I'm going for. I play every instrument up there (not exactly a big list) although skill levels vary. I like to play instruments because I think it's fun. When I was a teenager and picked up the drums for example, I had a blast with it and learned quickly.

I'd actually rather be able to play a lot of instruments than being a virtuoso with one. But that's because to reach that kind of level, you have to leave the fun behind more and more often and I just don't have the discipline.

And why does Keyboard suck? Piano was definitely the hardest instrument for me personally to learn and become good at...

I'm with tore. Since when did playing music mean aspiring to conquer every single genre, style and technique out there? Learning instruments for me is about enjoyment and personal growth, not trying to be every single different virtuoso out there.

Anyway, I 'play' all instruments that are listed up there apart from drums. I could never, ever get into drums for some reason. I was dragged along to classical piano lessons when I was a child, I then started picking up a guitar when I was a teenager and now I'm venturing into bass - which is definitely my favourite instrument to play! I also 'play' my vocal chords but have no formal training, unless you count singing in the shower and in my car I'm not that great but I enjoy what I do and that is all that matters!

I understand that you don't have to be able to read music to play. But for me it kinda goes hand in hand a little. Just basic reading music thats it. Nothing complex or that like.

Haha, well I must play my vocal chords too, very badly though...
After I get my car and that, I'm definetly buying Bass. I don't care what anyone says. I want to learn it.

At school I was a champ on drums, that was the instrument I was best at. Don't know how good I'd be now though.

Most of us by far don't work as musicians. I mean it's one thing if that's your bread and water, then you can perhaps start writing about what people in your situation should know. But then you're also in a minority here and should keep in mind that with a general post in this thread, you're addressing the majority.

Why does it say keyboard sucks???

I play all the above reasonably proficiently, but I am most comfortable on guitar and piano.
I also play accordion, organs, synths, ukulele, mandolin, banjo and I'm struggling along with flugel horn and trumpet but with only minimal success.

Terrible terrible news! I have to wait til the 27th. They don't rent out banjos like they do all their other instruments. So the 27th (my birthday) ill have a dandy ol' one and be playing some bluegrass tunes and whatnot. Of course I'll write you a song and learn that one. Hahaha wish me luck!
