As a child I played recorder flutes. Now not so much but I still like it.
I play a flute in small orchestra with other instruments and I love it, it's better than to play only solo. I was also in music school. In general I play a flute 9 or 10 years and recorder flutes about 15 years I tried to play piano but somehow it didn't catch me so much like flute so I played only one year. I would like to try to play classic guitar, I like it a lot, one of my fave instruments.

I hate it when people just say they play "drums". Say percussion. If you jam along in a rock band on the set, you're barely a musician, in my opinion. Learn to read music and become a true percussionist, then you're getting somewhere. Set, mallets, marching percussion, cymbals, auxiliary, percussion has so many different faces.
Point being, I play it all. |

I play all percussion instruments except for the drumset, and I'm not sounding as pretentious as you are. Everybody learns differently. Of course it's preferred for musicians to be able to read, but you're telling me right now that every musician that can't read is hardly a musician? Do you know how DIFFICULT it is to play a drumset? I play mallets. Four mallets, actually. And drumset is too hard for me. Do me a favour and remember that you're on a music forum. With musicians of all sorts, probably better ones than you, and I bet you some of them can't read. |
