learn piano first. it'll help ur intonation a LOT when u learn violin.

picked up a C harp today, gonna drink whiskey and rock some rock and some blues when i get good

piano & guitar one day..harp first

I play guitar now, but I wish I knew piano b/c it always seemed to me that the pianists I've known have had a thorough understanding of music. Then from there, they took it to bass, then guitar, etc. I can only read tab. I have no idea how to read sheet music. I guess that makes me a bit of a posuer.

eh..not really....most people hwo play guitar cant read sheet music.
i myself cant sightread on guitar at all
i CAN figure stuff out cuz i have a good background in music....but with guitar its not all that big a deal

i'm an illiterate guitar and bass player

been playing for about 15 years now. have a fair pile of gear collected at this point. usually jam once a week with friends in the back of a warehouse. super loud freak out improv. it's good **** haha

learning to read music is fun tho

and after you get that u can get awesome old classical stuff and play it
i'm thinking of doing a verion of Dvorak's 7th slavonic dance with my band
its pretty awesome
