Default how many steps?

i was just wondering, how many steps can you guys bend on a guitar with ONLY your pinky? And what string and what fret are you on? so far i can only go 1 1/2 steps with my pinky on the D starting on the 9th fret, im not sure if thats good though so thats why i posted this

*Edit* also, what brand of strings and what guage do you use? I use DR 10's and Ernie Ball 11's

I can't think of any situation in which your pinky would be taking the brunt of bending forces, and in any case, sheer strength doesn't imply control. It will also depend on what kind of strings you use. I play 11's and 12's routinely, so even though I'm a pretty strongly built dude and I can control those strings well, I doubt I'd be able to outbend someone who plays 8s.

TL;DR - Isn't this a bit pointless?

well i play 10's and 11's, and yes this is pointless, besides the fact that im just wondering how much strength everyone has in only their pinky. Just curious

Yea theres not much to be gained from that. Not to mention if you move up to fatter strings theres no way (unless you have a super pinky) your going to be able to do most bends up to snuff.

well basically why im doing this is
1.) because im just curious
2.) im not sure if my pinky is really all that strong, so if it isnt, I really want to give it more of a workout so it can get stronger

The best way to do that is while playing scales and reaching for hard parts of chords to not cheat and use all four fingers instead on just the main three.

I always use all 4 fingers when I play, but what im trying to say is I would like to compare and see if im even getting close to what other people can do

Except what you're comparing is pointless. You can't compare your abilities to those of other people, if what you're comparing is the ability to do something nobody ever does.

Theres absolutely no situation in playing the guitar where having a stronger pinky finger is a great benefit. If your guitars are set up correctly you should be able to fret a 13 guage string with any finger with minimal effort. Bending is a different story, but nobody bends with their pinky fingers anyway. I've been playing 11 years and I've never seen it. Ever. I've seen it used in a bend, but only ever when supported by another finger.

sigh* it is not pointless, i know nobody does it, and it isnt something people do when they play guitar, but your pinky doing it itself would build more strength.
more strength = faster pinky
and beside the fact, even if it IS pointless is it a crime to be curious and want to compare?
