I never even thought about Open A until I heard "In My Time Of Dying," and I decided to try it out. I really liked it, and while I was just noodling around, I realized it had this very natural tone that sounded like it was pulled right from the streets of Cairo It's also good for electric slide.

Of course, "Kashmir" turned me on to DADGAD, but I've since come to use it for a lot of other things

Open G just came about from my fanboy-ism for Robert Johnson

I'd like to own my own sitar at some point, and maybe even a lap steel
