My neighbor in my old apartment complex was Indian Buddhist and her husband played sitar He knew I was kinda down, just feelin' like **** all the time, so he helped with some incense and stuff, meditation rituals, and to help focus and relieve stress, he taught me to play the sitar

I keep my SG in Open A (lo-hi, E-A-E-A-C#-E) tuning, as it gives natural style of playing very similar to that kinda music. My next guitar will probably be in DADGAD, as it works really well for Indian folk music

My acoustic is tuned in Open G (lo-hi, D-G-D-G-B-D) for Delta blues and slide-work
