There are a lot who have shaped my musical world through teaching or playing. Thus far, I would say these people:

Bill V*
Buddy Rich
David G*
Skip V*
Michael Jackson

Michael for his stage presence and level of performance, and also Buddy for this reason.
* means last name withheld because I know them personally and they aren't celebrities, but teachers of music near where I live. I want to respect their privacy.
