Default Wah-wah?

Hey guys. So a while ago, I ended up selling my Dunlop Crybaby Original. I was fairly satisfied with it on my old solid state, but when i switched over to tube, it had way too much highs and I couldn't bring it down. I also noticed that the mids were partly skipped and partly muddied out. So now I'm on the hunt again for a new wah wah that hangs more in the low and mid range sweep and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions? Also, do certain pedals match up with different genres better than other pedals?
