Burning Down The Music Guru. Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Beyond the Wall Posts: 4,858	The use of modes (all except Ionian and Aeolian of course), and tritones. Each mode creates a totally different atmosphere than the standard major/minor sound. And tritones just add another element to a piece when used properly!
