I need a new keyboard
I have a dilemma. I have finally sat myself down and begun practicing the piano quite often. I can read music, and I can memorize and play quite well, but I know VERY little about the equipment. The only thing i know is that I only have 36 keys and a lot of the music I want to play goes lower than what I can physically play. I use a casio now, and its decent despite the short range, and the fact that it was purchased ten or so years ago.
So I am looking for a keyboard with a larger range. I play for myself, and possibly soon with a cover band, but just for fun, so performance isn't really high on my list, but I need one with an amp jack, which I believe is very common if not standard for keyboards. I am also unemployed so my budget is $150-$175 US dollars. This is what I am considering: Casio CTK-3000 |
In my opinion, it looks quite good, but I guess you will end up frustrated playing on a 5 octave keyboard (thats what happened to me). You may want to consider the purchase of a larger keyboard in the first place (second hand "Korg T2" or "Korg X2" which are good enough .... for instance). Check this out !
