How-to fix a piano after it was rained on We got a piano after it had been rained on we'd like to know if it is fixable so we can keep it.?

Anything is fixable if you do enough to it, but in the case of a rained on piano, it might be very very expensive.

It depends entirely on how much rain is now in the wood, whether its warping, whether the wood after drying will be susceptible to checking, delamination etc.

The only person who could give you a good idea would be a piano repair technician.

Is it electric?

If its a traditional piano, I don't know how much rain would affect it. Its hammer hitting metal strings. So unless the mechanics of it were damaged somehow, I don't know what damage we're talking about?

Water can damage the wood and warp it, which would seriously affect the sound and/or the mechanics of the piano, just as with any wooden instrument.
