I realize I won't be able to simulate the look of an aged pedal here at home as well as you do in your shop, but in case I try I have one small question. It's about the "socket in the sock" stage. I noticed that you said the toe and heel color of said sock don't matter...but in your video you always referred to using a "dress" sock. This has me concerned. I don't own any dress socks. In your professional opinion, would a sports sock...perhaps a 90% cotton, 10% nylon one...work as well? Or would the added fluffiness of my non-dress sock produce only small dents that don't provide the full "aged" look your company promises and thus my home version would stand out as an obvious fake? Thank you in advance for your help. And keep up the good work. It's nice to see American entrepreneurship alive and well. |
I've never tried to mod a pedal with a sports sock. I cannot speak to their effectiveness. While I like to keep things fresh and am generally willing to try new things a jock/meathead mod I don't see in my future. Go ahead and give it a whirl a home. Dump some Gatorade on it while your at it!
Just get some dress socks. |
