Sitar Suggestions
Hey, Would anybody happen to know where I could find a cheap, good Sitar? I've found a good one on ebay for about Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars, would that be a good price or could I find better?

the only time i've ever seen a sitar for sale was on kijiji and $450. they're not exactly common in north america so you're going to be limited to what's available. for 250 it would have been worth checking out, likely more of a decorative piece of furniture but probably still playable.
seriously though, consider the average prices of mass produced acoustic guitars, the bottom end is around $200. you think an uncommon and relatively unique instrument that isn't mass produced would normally sell for cheaper than that? |

Probably not. Just hoping to get lucky I guess. Anyway, thanks I'll probably just buy the one I've found. |

no worries, i'd say you were already lucky by finding that offer in the first place hehe. i'd be curious to know more details about it if/when you pick it up though. a manufacturer's name maybe, what sort of strings it uses (steel or nylon), hardware (metal or wood) etc.

I went back to check it out but the page was gone. I guess I'm going to have to keep looking. I'll post the details when I get my hands on one though.
